Inside a Fishing Lure Factory: The Complete Manufacturing Process
2026-06-08 | GD Angling Tackle

From a block of raw ABS plastic to a finished, fish-catching lure — understanding the manufacturing process helps you evaluate manufacturers and appreciate why quality varies so much between factories. At GD Angling Tackle, every stage is controlled by experienced engineers.
Step 1: Mold Design and Fabrication
Our R&D designers — with over 15 years of experience — create the lure shape based on target species, water conditions, and desired swimming action. Steel molds last for hundreds of thousands of cycles.

Step 2: Injection Molding
ABS plastic pellets are melted and injected into the mold cavity under pressure. The cycle repeats every 20-40 seconds, producing hundreds of identical bodies per hour.
Step 3: Painting and Finishing
Primer coat, airbrush layers, UV protective coating, and 3D holographic eyes. Our expanded color lab matches virtually any color reference.
Step 4: Hardware Assembly
Step 5: Swimming Action Testing

Step 6: Packaging

Final QC and Shipment
